Get off the Road to Nowhere! REOP a program that helps adolescent manage their anger. Philosophy on managing anger: For the adolescent in development anger is a very natural reaction to those situations that may cause disappointment, hurt, frustration, sadness, and many other emotions that adolescence sometime find difficult to navigate through. Raging emotions are extremely confusing for the development of a child. Our group offers the opportunity for each participant to explore self through introspection with others in a supportive environment. Participants are encouraged to work through real-world blocks and to practice new interpersonal behaviors that deepen positive communication and positive community living. For adolescence ages 12-21. Topics include: Understanding your own behavior, Coping with anxiety and depression Communicating effectively with peers and adults, Achieving your goals, Handling stress at school and at home Becoming your own person, Anger Management and assertiveness. REOP DEFINED: RELATIONSHIP- Activities designed around the dynamics of anger EDUCATION- Learning the concept of the Thought-Emotion-Action triad that takes place OWNERSHIP- Realizations, Ah ha! experiences PARTICIPATION/PRACTICE what has been learned Locations: ETA, 1065 Orange Turnpike, Building 14, Monroe, NY 10950 Date: Each Thursday at 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Space is limited, first come first serve. Group will be facilitated by: Joseph Ventimiglia, MA. Joseph Ventimiglia MA. Founder, has been involved in experiential education for more than 20 years. As an Adventure Therapist, Behaviorist and Youth and Family Coach, Joseph designs programs to meet the client's objectives and achieve maximum impact. During his career he has worked as a wilderness educator and cooperative trainer with fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations. Mr. Ventimiglia has taught The Psychology of Human Dynamics at Bergen Community College, in New Jersey and is an Experiential Education graduate adviser at Prescott College, in Arizona. In addition, Joseph offers lectures and leads learning expeditions, which involve diverse groups in both wilderness and urban settings. |
